Then the winners are selected and asked to proceed with the winning by applying for the American Immigrant visa and at the time they will not be required to pay for the visa application fees. They will be called for the interview according to their case numbers. (Some people with the higher case numbers will not be called for the interview, if the available visas are exhausted)
On the day of the interview the will pay the visa and DV processing fees to the consular office and will have to face the interview. At the interview if they are found eligible, they will be issued with the required American visa on the day or later. That visa is valid for period of 6 months from the date of issue. Within the validity period the visa holder must enter in to the US territory reporting at any border post by air, sea, road or train.
